Went in with a mercedes title and a camaro release of liability. Left with camaro registration/transfer fees and no mercedes title. More after the jump

Kinja'd!!!

After looking at the registration closely today I realized it was for a 95 camaro and the receipt had the camaro vin on it.

I’m not sure what I can do other than hope the DMV lady remembers me coming in 2 weeks ago. I now have a title coming in the mail for a camaro I already sold, and no proof or paperwork saying that I own the mercedes. It’s most likely still in someone else’s name meaning that they would have to refill out the transfer paperwork.

This explains why the mercedes,”has just been registered” and only cost $51 to transfer. Because she was actually transferring the camaro, though I’m not sure how she made that mistake as one form was a pink slip and the other was a release of liability.

Wish me luck for tuesday when the dmv’s open.

Don’t know where you are in CA, but after having a ton of issues with them over the years I’ve used Jim at CARSDMV.COM for all of my vehicles for the past several years. Can’t hurt to give him a call.
